Focused primarily in the Almaden Valley region of San Jose, the Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League (AVYSL) provides a breadth of youth soccer programs for girls and boys.  The mission of the league is to foster healthful recreation and responsible social interaction through the sport of soccer.  The league also supports the training and certification of coaches and referees. AVYSL is a non-profit organization affiliated with the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA), District II.

Why Almaden?

Tryouts for the AVYSL U8 - U14 competitive teams are now complete.  All players have been notified.  Tryouts for AYVSL’s Boys U15 and U16 teams (birthdates after July 31st 1995)  will be held in January and February 2012.   See below for more information.

 Congratulations to the Mercury Black 99 Boys, who won their District Cup - BU12 Bronze Division tournament.

The Quicksilver Green 97 U14 team won their league - CCSL Bay Gold Division. This was also Coach Adam Gill’s last season after 4 years of coaching these girls.  Coach Adam will be sorely missed - though he is leaving the league with both a District Cup win and as League Division Champs. Congratulations Girls, and good luck, Adam.

 The Mercury Green 99 team won their District II Cup  - Congratulations Boys!

The Almaden Mercury 00 (U11 Boys) captured their 2nd straight undefeated Fall District II Cup Tournament, taking 1st place in the Copper Division on November 13, 2011 in Mountain View. In a four game sweep, they scored 11 goals, while only allowing 4 goals against. The scores of the 4 games were as follows: 4-1 vs. Mt. View, 2-0 vs. Alpine, 1-0 vs. Stanford, and 4-2 in the final vs. Juventus Fire.
