Academy Program Overview
The Pre-Comp Academy has been developed by Almaden FC to further develop players in a structured, professionally coached environment with age-specific curriculum in mind.
This unique Academy environment is designed to create the developmental bridge between recreational and competitive soccer by advancing player progression; and has been specially designed for boys and girls ages U6-U8, seeking supplemental training beyond their existing recreational team practices. This specialized training aims to improve both technical and tactical skills to ease a future transition into competitive soccer.
The right candidates (players) will want to be challenged, and aspire to pursue a higher level of play. The pre-comp academy is not intended for players that find recreational soccer difficult or are easily frustrated, as it is the very purpose of the academy to create greater challenges for the aspiring competitive player.
The program will include incremental participant training throughout the fall 2014 season, with the focus on readying candidates for Almaden FC competitive tryouts in December.
