If you are interested in
being a Fall Rec. Age Group Coordinator please attend our AGC training meeting (time/location TBD), where we will provide
complete information and timelines for the fall season. We will also collect
information from all interested parents in order to make selections of our 12
AGC positions.
AGC is the only non- team leader volunteer position
that has the opportunity to request a specific Fall Rec. coach for each of your
players registered for the program.
Here are
some details of the AGC’s responsibilities:
U6-U12 Age Group Coordinators (AGCs)
The number
of teams per gender and per age group vary, but usually range between 12
and 20 teams. The size of your age group impacts the time commitment of being
an AGC.
The
size of this task depends on the needs of your age group. All team leaders will
be confirmed by July 26th. You will be monitoring responses to an
on-line survey to collect all information from team leaders. This task can be
time consuming during June & July.
You
are given spreadsheets with all necessary info. You then communicate with the
Team Leaders and assign all teams into appropriate slots.
The
Fall Rec. Directors are planning a number of meetings and trainings to best prepare
our parent volunteers to facilitate a high quality program for our players. There
will be one meeting that we request the AGCs to
attend in addition to the AGC training meeting. More information will be posted
on these meetings once the venues are booked.
This
is the largest and the most on-going part of the AGC position. You will need to
be checking your e-mail frequently from mid-August to mid-November in order to
help the Directors communicate effectively with the Fall Rec. teams and
families. The Directors often create e-mails that you will copy then tweak to
conform to your age group’s needs, but you should feel comfortable writing e-mails.
You
will also have team photos and trophies delivered to your house. Most commonly AGCs distribute these items by leaving them on their
doorstep for pick-up by individual team leaders.
