2011 Team Leadership Roles

There are 3 Team Leader roles offered in the Fall Recreation Programs:

  • Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach
  • Team Manager (U8 and older teams only)

Performing one of these roles for the Fall season will satisfy your family’s league volunteer requirement for the year.  (For more information please see the Volunteer page under the Programs tab.)

The league will select Team Leaders after registration closes in July.  Only league-approved Team Leaders may perform these roles and receive volunteer credit.

Mandatory Coach Meetings
Meeting Schedule for Coaches

The mandatory coaches meeting will be held August 18th or 19th at the Almaden Community Center.  At the coaches meeting you will receive information about game day rules, trainer schedules, equipment guidelines, as well as training instruction tailored to your age group.  At least one coach from each team must attend the mandatory training. The schedule is:

                August 18th 6:00pm - 8:45pm
    • 6:00pm - 7:15pm Technical/logistical training for U6, U7
    • 6:00pm - 7:15pm Theoretical training (Neil Castle) for U12, U14, U16
    • 7:30pm - 8:45pm Technical/logistical training for U12, U14, U16
    • 7:30pm - 8:45pm Theoretical training (Neil Castle) for U6, U7
                August 19th 6:00pm - 8:45pm
    • 6:00pm - 7:15pm Technical/logistical training for U8, U10
    • 6:00pm - 7:15pm Theoretical training (Neil Castle) for U5 Kickers
    • 7:30pm - 8:45pm Technical/logistical training for U5 Kickers
    • 7:30pm - 8:45pm Theoretical training (Neil Castle) for U8, U10
Neil Castle will hold field training sessions on August 20th at Pioneer HS.  At these sessions you will learn drills and games to use at practices, as well as game-day coaching techniques.  The schedule is
  • 9:00am - 12:00pm U5 through U10
  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm U12 through U16

Team uniforms and equipment can be picked up August 20th at Pioneer HS.  In order to pick up your uniforms and equipment, you must turn in your completed team packet including registration paperwork from all of the players on your team.  Instructions on this packet will be distributed at the Team Manager meeting.
