Almaden soccer would like to wish Olivia Herning well on her upcoming trip to Munich after being selected by the FC Bayern Munich staff during the FC Bayern Munich Residential camp this summer in Santa Barbara.
Olivia currently plays for Almaden FC 2005 Quicksilver team and was selected by her coaches to attend the FC Bayern ID program. From there she represented FC Bayern West in a number of tournaments and was selected to play in front of Thomas Doellner one of FC Bayern Munich's top international coaches.
On her achievement her mother, Julia, had to say "We'd like to thank the AFC/GPS family for this amazing opportunity for our daughter. Almaden is a small club, with big opportunities. Livy has been blessed with two amazing female role models and coaches, Roxy Kamal and Nicole Evans. This is what little girls dream of when they're working hard out there every day on the pitch. We fly out tonight for an opportunity of a lifetime!" Hear What Olivia had to say for herself in the video below.
Olivia is testament that with hard work and a fantastic attitude anything is possible and with the support of her coaches, Director of Coaching and the hard work John Devine and the technical staff have put into the club over the past two years it was only a matter of time before Almaden FC started to see such success on the field. Off the field we continue to fund raise and build support for the Pioneer Facility and any support our membership can offer is very much welcome.
