5th February 2019: Almaden Soccer and Global Premier Soccer (GPS) California renew terms on a new 3-year contract. The renewal includes program exclusivity for Almaden Soccer players and the introduction of additional tiers in state-wide tournament teams.
GPS California General Manager, Kurtis Millan, traveled to Almaden Valley, San Jose, February 5th to present with Almaden Soccer President Gordon Mackintosh and his technical team including Technical Director John Devine and Director of Coaching Adam Whaley, to illustrate the future of the relationship of Almaden Soccer and GPS California.
In a packed Almaden Community Center with over 100 families and full coaching staff in attendance Millan went into the details of the relationship between the clubs and what it means for the families within Almaden. From 2019, all players selected to participate in GPS Programming will be exclusively from Almaden Soccer and GPS Affiliates.
This exponentially increases the number of opportunities available to all players within Almaden Soccer to aspire to play outside of Almaden Soccer's in-house/regional programming. This programming includes but not limited to the GPS Elite Player Programming (GPS FC Bayern Pre-ID, FC Bayern ID and National Team Program), Residential Academies worldwide as well as International tournaments and showcases, such as Gothia Cup, Sweden and Super Cup, Northern Ireland.
In addition to the exclusivity between GPS and Almaden Soccer, GPS California will see an extension to our state-wide tournament teams with each age group having at least 2 and in some cases three teams going to specially selected top-level tournaments.
